CO-OP Financial Services provides technically superior products and services to financial institutions across the nation. We are seeking a talented System Engineer I to be responsible for the IST/Switch and supporting other business applications, including but not limited to MPI (MultiPoint Integrator), Concert ESB, Mobile Banking, and Data Navigator.


  • Assist the Project Manager with all phases of an application project, including technical design and development, testing, deployment, resolving issues and ongoing maintenance.
  • Assist the Technical Admin with Client implementation and certification to the network and network transaction settlement.
  • Assist the Technical Admin with provisioning, maintaining and supporting EFT transaction application in a UNIX environment, and operation, maintenance and monitoring of EFT transaction applications.
  • Write detailed descriptions of user needs, process flows, and steps required to develop, modify or improve existing processes.
  • Prepare specifications, flow charts, and process diagrams to guide applications development.
  • Assist with the trouble-shooting of production issues.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as crontab jobs and/or backups.
  • Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
  • Provide support per request from various help desk or business line associates. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure or add new services as necessary.
  • Maintain and document operational, configuration, and other procedures.
  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, and resource optimization as required.


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with other individuals of all levels with varying technical skills and work under pressure with minimal supervision, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • ability and desire to learn new skills quickly and maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field from a four-year college or university and/or 2 or more years of experience.
  • Prefer at least one year of hands-on experience with UNIX/LINUX, Oracle 10g, 11g or higher.
  • UNIX Shell Scripting, Solaris and VPN. CompTIA Linux+ Certification preferred.
