We are seeking a talented forward thinking Software Architect who will be responsible for designing and implementing information systems which will adequately support the organization. This individual will help determine how the future needs of the organization will be met. This includes identifying new technologies, partners, and applications to enhance and improve the companies market or internal offerings.  Analyzes system requirements and ensures that systems will offer secure solutions and will be effectively integrated with current applications. Ensures that all systems are working at optimal levels and offers support to application development department regarding new technologies and system requirements. Has thorough knowledge of application programming, and web and software applications.

Responsibilities: 

  • Able to see the big picture and helps to align business strategy with IT strategy
  • Defines software architecture requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms with a security first mindset
  • Defines technical standards, appropriate requirements, scope, and estimates.  
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with internal business partners to understand appropriate business requirements.
  • Actively supports strategic future, culture and leadership practices.
  • Proactively pursues development opportunities and show expected progress on learning plan.

Qualifications

Experienced Software Architect Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science / Computer Information Systems or equivalent degree, or equivalent experience can be substituted for degree
  • Advanced knowledge of Modern OS architecture concepts and communications protocols
  • TOGAF certification or knowledge a plus
  • Advanced database design and development
  • Expert modern graphical user interface and development methodologies
  • Fundamental software development methodologies, design and implementation
  • Expert technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation. Good to excellent understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance.
  • 10+ years previous development experience required
  • Knowledge of finance and credit card systems is essential
  • Knowledge of cloud based application architecture
  • Advanced analytical, design and problem-solving skills at multi-product/multi-environment level to troubleshoot system defects and mitigate the issues they cause.
  • Expert skills in research and analysis, project planning and implementation. Understanding and awareness of business issues as they impact overall project plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express and document complex technical concepts in business terms. Person must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with technical staff, non-technical staff, end-users for requirements gathering, testing, training, and outcome validation. Good English-language skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional project team environment.
  • Expert understanding of concepts of project planning and project management techniques to assist in small projects and/or group initiatives.
