Overview

The Business Analyst will perform business analysis duties related to the task of understanding business change needs, assessing the business impact of those changes, capturing, analyzing, documenting requirements and test strategies, executing test strategies and supporting the communication and delivery of requirements with relevant stakeholders using business analysis industry best practices. Additionally, the Business Analyst will be required to understand and apply project management practices to ensure timely delivery of project activities.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Works with business partner to elicit high-level business requirements and capture business and technical needs
  • Performs simple analysis and has an understanding of Canadian banking environments, structures and systems
  • Develops and provides business process or workflow designs as required for the solution or the project
  • Provides on screen mock-ups or prototypes via presentation for user interface requirements ad review with stakeholders to obtain buy-in
  • Proactively resolves customer satisfaction issues
  • Applies Business Analysis industry best practices
  • Applies Project Management methodologies to deliver activities on time
  • Assesses the risks of various solutions and prioritizes competing business demands
  • Provide project planning input and expertise for the development, testing and implementation of credit card products and services through demonstration of working knowledge of SDLC and Project methodologies
  • Obtains Key Inputs from stakeholders and technical teams and identifies solution interdependencies
  • Designs, develops, and deploys UAT test plans using use cases and ensuring acceptance criteria are met prior to releasing to our partners
  • Performs issue resolution and correction on test failures
  • Assists with developing or updating content for user guides, release notes, internal and external training webinars, support documentation and FAQs.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in management information systems, business, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of operational experience working in a credit card or financial institution
  • Working knowledge of business analysis processes and techniques
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Working knowledge and experience in the card or payment industry, Canadian financial and/or banking systems; regulatory environment; and emerging payment trends
  • Proven experience coordinating operational activities with competing priorities and strict deadlines
  • Proven ability to build effective and successful relationships within and outside the organization
  • Ability to work at a detailed level and quickly learn business application-specific details
  • Strong orientation toward excellence in results and proven ability to quickly become a subject matter expert
  • Communicates information in a clear and understandable manner to others and proven presentation skills
  • Capable of applying a professional knowledge, possessing a high level of problem solving, analytical abilities and negotiation skills
  • Proven high level of proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio & PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong data extraction and manipulation skills
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to present results of analysis to the project team and client
  • Sound business judgment and business acumen
  • Ability to grasp and retain the goals of Collabria and incorporate them into daily work
  • Ability to work as a part of a team
