Our Product Analyst will be responsible for understanding credit, debit, loyalty and prepaid products in Canada. The position will work to identify features, products and functions which can be translated into requirements and submitted to internal and external stakeholders for development and delivery. This individual will provide consultative support to senior groups and project teams.


Responsibilities include:


  • Subject matter expert on Canadian payment and loyalty products.
  • Collaborates with developers, product owners, technical support specialists, testers, end users and clients to identify and refine product requirements
  • Writes stories for new features, productions and functions that will enhance the Canadian platform.
  • Acts as the liaison between internal and external third parties to obtain information required to define requirements, answer product questions.
  • Conducts research and analysis of current and future products, functions or services.
  • Creates or assists in creating product business cases in collaboration with other team members and presenting them to appropriate stakeholders for review and approval.
  • Researches and understands compliance regulations in Canada.
  • Uses project management methodologies to manage the planning and initiation stages with the end result to deliver quality documentation within the timeline required.
  • Validates implementation in production ensuring product is functioning as required.
  • Writes or assists in the preparation of client communication, training materials, manual updates.


  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or business administration.
  • 1-2 years’ direct work experience as a business or product analyst or a position with similar requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing and creating business and technical requirements.
  • Working knowledge and experience in user testing and testing methodologies.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and implementing software stories an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in solving complex business problems down to the root cause.
  • Ability to learn new processes and gain data understanding quickly.
  • Ability to work independently with some direction from senior members of the team.
  • Understanding of card processing platforms, financial systems including infrastructure, architecture and technology with high degree of experience with the First Data card processing platform.
  • Ability to write communication in both technical and user-oriented language.
  • Ability to troubleshoot business process changes, errors, and subsequent modifications; must be able to do this with the work of other analysts.
  • Able to interpret the operational requirements of end users, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated to make proactive changes.
  • Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback from superiors.
  • Effective deadline management and project management skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
