Overview

CO-OP Financial Services is currently looking for a Full-Time Head Teller in our Redford Branch.

The Head Teller assists branch management by providing day to day leadership, direction, and training to tellers and by maintaining Branch and Best Practice goals.

What your day will look like:

  • Resolves credit union/member problems, including follow-up with credit unions or members as needed.
  • Maintains control of the vault cash and replenish teller cash drawers; verifies incoming and outgoing currency deliveries; controls money orders, gift card and travel card inventories and shared branch products; makes remittances as required and prepares bank deposits and branch daily cash orders.
  • Performs branch settlement process; balances ATM(s), and completes branch recap; audits tellers and supervisors cash drawers/bags.
  • Performs loan closings and disbursements, and loan file maintenance.
  • Performs additional branch operations and teller functions.

 

Supervisor Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises tellers on a daily basis; provides on-going feedback and direction to staff; assists in on-going training of staff; prepares branch schedules as assigned.
  • Prepares monthly branch performance summaries; provides input for teller performance appraisals.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the Head Teller must have communication skills that demonstrate interpersonal and customer service skills along with leadership skills in interacting with and assisting staff. Previous customer service and cash handling experience required; previous sales or cross-selling skills experience preferred. Ability to pass computerized teller skills assessment. Experience using computer, keyboard & mouse, and calculator skills preferred. Demonstrated basic math and clerical skills. Demonstrated knowledge of policies and procedures, and judgment skills to make reasonable exceptions to policy and procedural guidelines. Experience using a computer, keyboard & mouse, and calculator skills required.

Must exhibit the following service standards:

  • Responsible for ensuring that exceptional service is delivered to both internal and external clients by “doing what’s right for credit unions
  • Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, CO-values and long term objectives.
  • Perform job duties within our policies procedures, service standards and state and federal laws.

 

We are seeking someone with two years of teller experience with CO-OP Shared Branching and one year as a Teller II required; six months of experience as Senior Teller preferred and performance at level 3 for the last twelve months OR two years of previous experience in a cash-handling and customer service environment, one year of supervisory experience required; one year of supervisory experience with a financial institution preferred. High school diploma or G.E.D.

Branches are open Monday thru Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
