Overview

CO-OP Financial Services provides technically superior products and services to financial institutions across the nation. We are seeking a talented Sr. Product Manager to be responsible for product strategy development, requirements definition, go-to-market strategy, execution, and ongoing growth of individual service lines.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the market analysis process for new products/services to determine customer needs, industry direction, competitive product and market positioning and overall product strategy
  • Creates and executes on a compelling product vision and roadmap
  • Evaluates new product/service viability and builds recommendations of go or no-go decision for senior leadership
  • Develops business plan, including strategic requirements, such as product design and strategic fit, go-to-market strategy, plus financial business case; pricing, cost, revenue forecasts, capital costs, profit.
  • Analyzes interconnectedness of products/partners/technologies to create best of breed products/services
  • Manages the entire product development cycle including requirements (functional, operational, and technical), documentation, resource management, system integration, testing compliance, product launch and implementation.
  • Manages capital and expense budgets to ensure adherence to budget while maintaining requirements for the product
  • Works with development teams, 3rd-party vendors, associations, and internal stakeholders to execute on development, launch and implementation plans. Act as single interface with development
  • Identifies and interprets customer/stakeholder needs and translate feedback and user testing results into feature/functionality requirements
  • Provide strategic support for sales and marketing post launch through technical and market training, customer meetings, demonstrations, and event support
  • Manages life cycle of assigned products or product lines; including evaluating customer needs, product enhancement, and determining end of life timing and strategy.
  • Closely collaborates with Marketing, providing rich content and strategic thinking to develop and maintain product positioning and messaging, utilizing various delivery vehicles (such as white papers, blogs, sales tools, etc.)
  • Negotiates costs and rules of engagement with vendors; demonstrating ability to work with legal counsel and contracts department to ensure that vendor and customer contracts accurately reflect the product and business perspective in our contracts.
  • Assists Sales and Business Development teams as needed in securing or maintaining existing key clients
  • Analyzes and defines roles and responsibilities of all ecosystem players and distribution channels
  • Conducts competitive analysis of vendors and their product offerings to evaluate and refine product positioning and value proposition.
  • Provide thought leadership for organization, customers and industry when appropriate
  • Create and present presentations to both internal and external audiences, virtually or in person
  • Attends industry trade shows/events and other meetings as needed, with travel as needed

Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or university program certificate in business or commensurate field experience, along with a minimum 7 years of product experience, at least three years in a product management role. Professional background in strategic and tactical product management and technical product/services experience. Must have a proven track record of bringing successful products to market on time

To perform this job successfully, the Sr. Product Manager must have knowledge of strategic and tactical product management and product development methodologies along with the strategic planning process, product life cycle management tenets and product pricing strategies. In addition, this person must have knowledge of financial forecasting, technical product management, creation of budgets and financial justification for product business decisions along with understanding and knowledge of financial services industry, preferably credit unions and EFT payments industry. EFT product payment experience and complex technical product experience is preferred.
