  • Overview

    CO-OP Financial Services provides technically superior products and services to financial institutions across the nation. We are seeking a talented Product Project Manager to be responsible for managing projects and providing Business Analysis services for all sizes and scope for the product department. The Product Project Manager is well versed in the concepts and application of the standard systems development lifecycle and project management practices and tools (PDLC). Using these disciplines, the Product Project Manager promotes excellence in project management and business analysis practices within CO-OP.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Partner with the assigned product manager to ensure delivery of product line enhancements and new products using the Product Delivery Life Cycle process (PDLC).
    • Plan, organize, and control projects of all sizes and scope for the assigned business line and others as assigned.
    • Implement all designated product related conversions and projects. This includes new products, enhancements to existing products and other activities necessary to deliver the approved product plan. This person will also act as the primary liaison within the organization and to external vendors for the successful implementation of new products and services from beta to full implementation. Project scope includes larger, detailed conversion projects as well as smaller minor enhancements.
    • Assist the assigned product manager in the preparation of Business Requirements Documents for new functionality or system changes.
    • Deliver testing plans, test cases, and execute same for system and UAT testing efforts prior to production implementation of system and product enhancements.
    • Write system and/or user documentation as assigned.
    • Implement all designated product related conversions and projects. This includes new products, enhancements to existing products and other activities necessary to deliver the approved product plan. This person will also act as the primary liaison within the organization and to external vendors for the successful implementation of new products and services from beta to full implementation. Project scope includes larger, detailed conversion projects as well as smaller minor enhancements.
    • Ensure that all projects are handled effectively and efficiently with clear, open communication and cooperation between all departments, vendors, and clients, and that any problems within the scope of responsibility are resolved in a timely manner.
    • Assist in problem resolution to closure during client activation or beta testing using a current issues log, proper escalation paths, and management reporting. Track and adjust implementation accordingly for support issues encountered.
    • Ensure that all project tasks are successfully coordinated within all appropriate departments including Client Services, Finance, Sales, Network Implementation, Communications & Public Relations, and SMT, as well as with clients and third party vendors.
    • Provide appropriate and needed updates for all assigned projects.

    Qualifications

    • Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Project
    • Good understanding of basic EFT technologies, concepts and processes for financial institutions in general and credit union specifically (ATM transaction flows, shared branching, mobile banking, and back office financial reporting).
    • Must have excellent verbal, written, planning and organization skills.
    • Ability to lead in person and conference call meetings independently.
    • Ability to work across all areas and all levels of CO-OP Financial Services, as well as our vendors to successfully implement and test new products with an emphasis on client satisfaction, quality and time to market.
    • Ability to work under minimal supervision, managing multiple projects simultaneously with delivery for all defined milestones and tasks.
    • Occasional travel is required.
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in the financial institution industry required.
    • EFT and payments systems knowledge required
    • 2-4years of project coordination experience required to include previous experience acting as a liaison between groups and communicating detailed information accurately.
    • Demonstrated experience managing projects and communication between departments is required.
    • PMI study or certification preferred.
    • Business Analyst experience preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training preferred; or financial institution industry required.
