  • Overview

    CO-OP Financial Services provides technically superior products and services to financial institutions across the nation. We are seeking a talented VP, Corporate Development & Strategic Relationship to be responsible for working closely with the Head of Corporate Development & Strategic Relationships and the CO-OP Senior Leadership team to drive the end to end merger & acquisition process, lead the CO-OP Strategic Planning process and manage key strategic partner relationships.




    • Proactive assessment of new corporate development and commercial market opportunities for CO-OP.
    • Prepare detailed business case analysis including market and company analysis, strategic fit, value proposition & financial models.
    • Source & develop industry relationships to identify new corporate development and commercial opportunities.
    • Perform Post Investment Reviews for active investments.
    • Maintain mid executive level relationships with strategic partners. Manage partner escalations. Ensure supporting commercial agreements maximize income and minimize risks.
    • Develop continuous relationship opportunities.
    • Maintain documentation of relationship status.
    • Support annual CO-OP Strategic Planning process and ongoing strategic initiatives.
    • Own special projects as needed.







    • 10+ yrs. experience within the financial services industry demonstrating consistent growth in responsibilities and accomplishments.
    • Experience with mergers & acquisitions, diligence process, valuation analysis.
    • Experience developing business cases to support early stage product development process as well as potential new market or partner evaluation.
    • Proven track record of working with clients and partners to develop existing relationships as well as new business opportunities.
    • Must be able to lead and execute on strategic initiatives.
    • Excel in both communication and analysis and can quickly and intuitively grasp how new products, complementary business models, and creative transaction structures could impact Co-Op from a strategic and financial perspective.
    • Ability to represent CO-OP to relevant organizations inside and outside the credit union system.
    • Excellent project management skills.
    • Ability to negotiate and structure partner agreements to maximize CO-OP value and minimize risk.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to present analysis in a impactful and concise manner.
    • Ability to manage and coordinate large and complex transaction teams.
    • MBA preferred.
    • Consulting experience.
    • Strategic planning experience.
