  • Overview

    CO-OP Financial Services provides technically superior products and services to financial institutions across the nation. We are seeking a talented Chief Product Officer to be responsible for being a critical member of the senior executive team, acting as the primary driver of the organization’s product vision; overseeing the development, management, and execution of the product and its road map based on developed strategies and vision. The CPO is responsible for developing and bringing to market an ecosystem of new products and services that grow revenues, increase client satisfaction and strengthen brand awareness.

     

    Reporting to the CEO, you will collaborate with the executive leadership team, as well as additional key stakeholders, to drive alignment on the future product strategy for CO-OP Financial Services. This role will be responsible for translating business strategies into product plans, driving the definition and execution for aspects of those plans from inception to launch, and optimizing the products to deliver against key financial and strategic goals and client benefits. This executive leader will act as an executive product evangelist within the organization and externally with clients.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Develop a product strategy that drives meaningful innovation and revenue growth while bolstering CO-OP’s position as the product leader in client solutions.
    • Lead the strategy and operations of new products and services from idea to execution. Tasks include understanding competitive market and consumer preference; creating a project workplan that measures progress; integrating new products into operational workflow.
    • Partner effectively with staff at all levels of the organization to communicate and coordinate execution, launch and implementation of new products.
    • Drive continuous innovation, leading the identification and evaluation of product extensions for the expansion and optimization of our platforms.
    • Create go-to-market strategies for each new product.
    • Work with executive leadership to create consistent messaging to external stakeholders that aligns with strategic goals.
    • Prepare (board level) presentations with recommendations on product initiatives that include market need, ROI and other key performance indicators.
    • Manage, with equal focus, the product strategy and product execution in coordination with product management, technology, sales, marketing, and other coordinated teams within a complex, matrixed environment.

    Qualifications

    • A solid understanding of financial product solutions and/or platform related technologies, ideally coupled with experience managing a portfolio of sophisticated applications.
    • Customer-centric mindset with a history of delivering revenue generating solutions at scale.
    • Knowledge of Acquirer or Technology/Commerce platform business model, technology platforms and system requirements a strong advantage.
    • Adept at synthesizing various technologies and capabilities into the business’s products in a way that clients and consumers will love.
    • Understand the unique challenges and tremendous opportunities associated with a rapidly growing fast-paced environment, with the ability to deal with ambiguity but equally the freedom to explore and innovate.
    • Maturity to work goals at hand, but also able to consider overall strategies of the firm and create opportunities previously unseen.
    • Understand power of collaborative & ownership culture; built on principles and values that compel everyone at CO-OP to think and act like an owner of the business.
    • The incumbent must be an independent, critical thinker with excellent written communication skills along with the ability to use investigative logic in identifying market trends, client needs, and solution options.
    • Able to synthesize complex and elaborate data points in a compressed layout for executive consumption and deliberation.
    • The incumbent must be able to evaluate situations and make decisions.
    • Analytical, quantitative, written, and presentation skills, along with proven, project management, cross organization and leadership skills.
    • Build effective working relationships with all key business partners including Technology, Ops, Finance, Client Management, Marketing, and Client Experience.
    • Extensive experience leading product development for a financial, software or technology-enabled service organization; serving in a leadership capacity within a business that offers cloud-based, data-oriented technology products.
    • At least 10 years’ experience in managing a variety of product lines in the EFT industry.
    • Demonstrated experience in leading complex, matrixed businesses to creation, delivery and launch of products which have had strong reception in the B2B market.
    • Experience leading senior leadership teams, demonstrating the ability to lead and deliver on various projects, perform well under pressure, and excel in providing reliable and clear communications.
    • Prior experience representing a company, brand, or products externally to the industry and with clients.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, with master’s degree preferred.
