  • The Opportunity

    CO-OP Financial Services provides technically superior products and services to financial institutions across the nation. We are seeking a talented Systems Engineer I to be responsible for serving as an liaison for the System Administrator II and the Technical Analyst (TA) roles; being primarily responsible for the IST/Switch and supporting other business applications, including but not limited to MPI (MultiPoint Integrator), Concert ESB, Mobile Banking, and Data Navigator.




    • Develop and maintain new and existing technology systems.
    • Develop appropriate requirements, scope, and estimates.
    • Build strong internal and external partnerships.
    • Actively supports CO-OPs strategic future, culture and leadership practices.
    • Proactively pursues development opportunities and show expected progress on learning plan.
    • With limited supervision from other project members, create and maintain basic to moderately complex systems for the benefit of internal and external customers.
    • Assist in the development of technical application design documents.
    • Under limited supervision of other project members, provide initial unit testing of all system changes with the goal of providing a stable production environment.
    • Builds and maintains systems in such a way that exceeds regulatory requirements. Security is a critical design requirement and data, systems, and applications must be protected at all points of the development lifecycle.
    • Communicate consistently and effectively with internal business partners to understand appropriate business requirements.
    • Assist project team members in developing scope documents.
    • Assist project team members in the development of project estimates.
    • Develop working relationships with internal business partners and project team members.
    • Develop knowledge of internal and external partner business.
    • Build trust with our partners in our knowledge and delivery of technology.
    • Communicate effectively to other project team members and internal business partners as required.
    • Basic knowledge of networking protocols, LANs/WANs, telecommunications networks and application software.
    • Thorough knowledge of Modern OS architecture concepts and communications protocols.

    What You’ll Need to Succeed

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
    • Ability to work with other individuals of all levels with varying technical skills and work under pressure with minimal supervision, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly and maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field from a four-year college or university and/or 2 or more years of experience. 
    • Prefer at least one year of hands-on experience with UNIX/LINUX, Oracle 10g, 11g or higher, UNIX Shell Scripting, Solaris and VPN.  CompTIA Linux+ Certification preferred.
