  • The Opportunity

    CO-OP Financial Services provides technically superior products and services to financial institutions across the nation. We are seeking a talented Accounts Payable Associate to be responsible for entering vendor invoices/travel expenses and ensures payments are made timely and in compliance with corporate policy.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Processes all accounts payable invoices, check requests and other vouchers for corporate and subsidiary companies utilizing an accounting application.
    • Ensures proper general ledger coding, approvals, and sign-offs on all payable invoices, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Obtains and stores electronically all payees’ W-9s.
    • Monitors all vendor payment agreements to find discounts that can be used to reduce invoice amounts.
    • Keeps track of credits owed to the company and ensure all credits are properly applied to vendor payments.
    • Reconciles payable reports each month to confirm that all amounts paid were accurate.
    • Prepares annual 1099 filings.
    • Responds timely to all inquiries.

    What You’ll Need to Succeed

    • High School diploma or general education (GED) minimum, along with 3+ years of accounts payable experience
    • Ability to dive right in and manage high invoice volumes from start to finish (receiving, research as needed, approvals, PO, GL coding, processing, etc.)
    • Must have working knowledge of Great Plains Accounting Software
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook and Word.
    • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to maintain a positive attitude 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with staff at all levels
    • Excellent organization skills, pays attention to details, has the ability to meet deadlines, and is a self-starter and dependable. 
    • Must react to change productively
