  • The Opportunity

    CO-OP Financial Services provides technically superior products and services to financial institutions across the nation. We are seeking a talented Application Developer II to be responsible for designing, developing, testing, maintaining and supporting applications that are secure, scalable and robust. Analyze, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems with applications and recommend enhancements to those applications. Work with and communicate with analysts to create applications consistent with the agreed upon specifications.

    What You Can Look Forward to

    • With limited supervision from other project members, create and maintain basic to moderately complex applications for the benefit of internal and external customers.
    • Assist in the development of technical application design documents.
    • Under limited supervision of other project members, provide initial unit testing of all coding changes with the goal of providing a stable production environment.
    • Builds and maintains applications in such a way that exceeds regulatory requirements. Security is a critical design requirement and data, systems, and applications must be protected at all points of the development lifecycle.
    • Communicate consistently and effectively with internal business partners to understand appropriate business requirements.
    • Assist project team members in developing scope documents.
    • Assist project team members in the development of project estimates.
    • Develop working relationships with internal business partners and project team members.
    • Build trust with our partners in our knowledge and delivery of technology.
    • Develop knowledge of internal and external partner business.

    What You’ll Need to Succeed

    • BS in Computer Science / Computer Information Systems or equivalent degree, or equivalent experience can be substituted for degree.
    • Knowledge of Modern OS architecture concepts and communications protocols.
    • Solid database design and development.
    • Solid modern graphical user interface and development methodologies.
    • Fundamental software development methodologies, design and implementation.
    • Knowledge of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance.
    • 3-5 years previous development experience required.
    • Knowledge of finance and credit card systems is preferred.
    • 3-5 years’ experience with coding in more than two development languages (C#, SQL, VB.NET, C++, Objective C, HTML, Java Script, Java, XML, ASP.NET, etc.) and be proficient in those languages.
    • 3-5 years’ experience with web development environments (Windows Server, IIS, WebSphere or Apache).
    • RPG, Free Format, CL, COBOL, FTP, SQL, XML, RDI.
    • Any additional programming language knowledge a plus.
