    We are seeking a talented Accountant I to assist with monthly general ledger close procedures; prepares and enters journal entries; reconciles and analyzes account balances; prepares bank reconciliations; researches variances. Participates in the year-end audit by preparing work papers and gathering supporting documentation. Performs some minor clerical duties.     

    What You Can Look Forward to

    • Responsible for reconciling, analyzing and preparing journal entries for assigned general ledger accounts.
    • Responsible for month-end variance reporting related to assigned accounts.
    • Responsible for reconciliation of bank accounts (daily and monthly), including review and research of exceptions.
    • Assists with interim and year-end audit work-papers.
    • Independently reconciles, researches, and resolves exception items of all types of account activity.
    • Assists in preparing documentation of policies and procedures as well as recommending process improvements.
    • Takes the initiative to review and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of the department.
    • Participates in special projects as needed.
    • Maintains monthly journal entry control log for specified area.
    • Organizes and maintains journal entries.

    What You’ll Need to Succeed

    • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Business.
    • Knowledge of PC based accounting software and Microsoft Office applications are essential.
    • Intermediate Excel skills are required.
    • Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Must have ability to effectively multi-task.
    • Must be able to work independently and in a group environment.
    • Ability to organize, manage time and meet deadlines.
    • Examines work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Proactively meets objectives while looking for efficiencies.
