    We are seeking a talented Platform Engineering Manager to lead a distributed team of highly skilled systems engineering professionals responsible for designing, building, and supporting our Windows, Linux, Unix, VMWare, and other application platforms. As the leader of this team, you will be responsible for creating and executing upon an exceptional technology focused plan for project delivery, sustainment of both production and non-production environments, and talent development for the team. This position will work with many groups within the COOP structure including our Development, application support, and data management teams to ensure the right solutions are delivered on-time and on-budget.

    What You Can Look Forward to

    • Managing CO-OP’s Windows and Linux server environments including patching, monitoring, and other activities that will maintain the integrity and uptime requirements for the company.
    • Manage day to day ET&S Operations activities, ensuring high availability for all platform operations services.
    • Motivate and challenge a talented team of system engineers.
    • Partner with key members of ET&S and the Business to support ongoing business requirements.
    • Ensure that service delivery and customer satisfaction exceed published service levels and coordinate escalation of issues as required.
    • Develop or enhance tools and/or processes to ensure that service targets and commitments are met regarding delivery of new hardware and software.
    • Develop or enhance tools and/or processes to ensure the availability and performance of COOPs computing infrastructure.
    • Provide leadership to leverage technologies, processes, and disciplines for delivering best in class methods throughout ET&S Infrastructure.
    • Assist in planning and testing CO-OP’s disaster recovery efforts.
    • Planning and managing to the infrastructure budget.
    • Manages, motivates and guides approximately 10 staff dedicated to excellence in customer care.
    • Develop and implement operations procedures for standardized IT operations as required.
    • Monitors key performance indicators of customer satisfaction using continuous quality improvement.
    • Ensures that Operation’s staff is trained and effective in their work.
    • Analyzes operations and implements changes intended to improve customer systems reliability and cost containment.
    • Ensures that Operation’s staff is trained and prepared to support all new products and infrastructure that is promoted into production.
    • Works closely with the IT Architecture team to design and implement automated security controls in DevOps methodology along with the associated tools and processes.

    What You’ll Need to Succeed

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or 8 or more years equivalent experience including at least 3 years of relevant supervisory experience required.
    • Manages, coordinates and prioritizes the schedules, projects and activities of direct reports.
    • Develops the support structure of the organization.
    • Determine training needs and develop training plans for staff.
    • Coordinates the implementation and operation of infrastructure architectures to support transaction processing and internal initiatives, and implementation and support of transaction processing systems. 
    • Must have solid understanding of the Windows and Linux server operating systems.
    • Must have solid understanding of Storage appliances and concepts such as Volumes, LUNS, iSCSI, NFS and disk I/O.
    • Must have advanced experience in managing Microsoft Applications such as Office 365, Active Directory, Exchange, IIS, SQL, PowerShell.
    • Must have solid understanding with Infrastructure concepts such as DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, LAN.
    • Must have solid understanding with virtualization Applications and concepts such as VMWare and Citrix.
    • Knowledge of ITIL and IT industry best practices.
    • Knowledge of security standards such as PCI DSS and industry audits.
    • Effective relationship management, communication, and presentation skills with demonstrated success dealing effectively with customers, vendors, peers and senior management.
    • Demonstrable experience supporting large Windows/Unix environments.
    • Demonstrable experience managing a data center.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage both a virtual and local team.
    • Ability to develop and oversee execution of a plan to overcome obstacles for solution delivery.
    • Occasional travel required.
