    We are seeking a talented Accountant II to participate in monthly general ledger close procedures; prepares and enters journal entries; reconciles and analyzes account balances; prepares bank reconciliations; researches variances. Participates in the year-end audit by preparing work papers and gathering supporting documentation. Works with more complex Accounting transactions and calculations.

    What You Can Look Forward to

    • Reconciles, analyzes and prepares journal entries for assigned general ledger accounts.
    • Prepares month-end variance reporting related to assigned accounts.
    • Maintains the Fixed Asset Subsidiary System.
    • Prepares shareholder equity reporting.
    • Prepares annual equity statements, shareholder notification, patronage calculations, etc.
    • Prepares work-papers for interim and year-end audit requirements.
    • Independently reconciles, researches, and resolves exception items of all types of account activity.
    • Prepares comprehensive analysis of revenue and expenses to ensure recognition in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
    • Assists transaction processing team with research related to month end accruals, sales tax reporting, and vendor reconciliations.
    • Actively participates in preparing documentation of policies and procedures as well as recommending process improvements.
    • Reviews and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of department.
    • Assists with training and cross-training lower level team members.
    • Participates/leads special projects, as needed.

    What You’ll Need to Succeed

    • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting, Business or a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
    • 3-5 years of Accounting related experience.
    • Knowledge of PC based accounting software and Microsoft Office applications are essential.
    • Advanced Excel skills are required.
    • Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
    • A background demonstrating strong analytical and problem solving ability is necessary.
    • Must possess strong verbal/written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Must have ability to effectively multi-task.
    • Must be able to work independently and in a group environment.
    • Ability to organize, manage time and meet deadlines.
    • Examines work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Proactively meeting objectives and looking for efficiencies.
    • Demonstrate strong leadership skills with a desire to continuously learn and develop.
