We are seeking a talented Procurement Negotiator to manage the procurement of goods and services for the enterprise.  The person in this role guides internal and external stakeholders through the vendor process, which includes: managing contract negotiations and renewals, administering and facilitating contracts with both internal and external customers, and managing areas of contract risk and enforcing appropriate risk mitigation terms.

What You Can Look Forward to

  • Facilitate purchase requests, including the evaluation and onboarding of vendors, risk review and contract negotiation processes.
  • Manage the contract administration process, including handling requests, facilitating notices, managing vendor renewals, and ensuring appropriate execution of all legal and purchasing documents.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Legal, Information Security, Risk, Finance, and IT, throughout the purchasing process.
  • Maintain the enterprise-wide contract management system, and associated processes for the tracking of contractual obligations, renewal dates, and expirations.
  • Negotiate with vendors on contract terms, conditions, and pricing.
  • Act as a liaison with legal counsel, internal business owners, internal stakeholders, and vendors to drive contracts to execution.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to leverage cost savings opportunities and establish cost effective practices.
  • Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with all appropriate parties about any issues encountered in the vendor process.
  • Help internal customers troubleshoot and resolve vendor issues and challenges.
  • Coordinate the contract execution review and approval process.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Responsible for reporting risks that are identified to the appropriate team and/or management. Additionally, responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting risks within the scope of your work area, to include, but not limited to Information Security risks.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7+ years of related experience, preferably in the financial services industry, or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • Proficient PC knowledge and the use of standard software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience participating as part of cross functional teams.
  • Experience working in or with contract management, legal, procurement, or vendor management, or equivalent training and/or experience desirable.
  • Experience working in the financial services industry preferred.
  • Background or knowledge in business analysis, project management, IT, risk management, and/or compliance preferred.
  • Previous experience working with external vendors, consultants and professional services partners preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem solving skills and the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems, driving solutions to completion.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, while meeting demanding deadlines.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and willingness to embrace change. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in multi-functional teams.
